Train Like You Matter (TLYM) is a fitness, advocacy, and outreach organization founded by Dr. Lindsey “Luka” Carfagna. Train Like You Matter is a call to anyone who wants to use fitness to create confidence, self-sufficiency, and a healthy life. Whether your goal is to get stronger, to have the energy to chase your kids around, or to find a few hours each week to spend on your health, I invite you to train like you matter, because YOU matter.
Lindsey is a certified personal trainer (CPT) through NASM, holds a Crossfit L1, is a Level 1 Exercise is Medicine credentialed trainer, and is certifying as a sports performance specialist with Exos. She has coached clients of all abilities and athletic backgrounds and also specializes as a private soccer coach on CoachUp.com. A former two-sport division 1 athlete, Lindsey suffered career ending concussions during competition and is challenged daily by the effects of her injury. Instead of letting it get her down, she’s channeled her experiences into helping others train like they matter, no matter their challenges.
Lindsey knows that health and wellness are some of the first things to go when life gets busy and challenges stand in the way. She also knows that small investments in your health and wellness now can make a lifetime of difference. Training like you matter means finding ways to bring fitness into your busy life. It means learning to plan, cook, and eat the kinds of foods that fuel and nourish your body. It also means non-judgment. I don’t practice the kind of fitness that shames or tells you that you’re not doing enough. I get it – sometimes life gets in the way of your best laid plans. That’s ok. I’m here to support you and can’t wait to be part of your journey.
